Filming a TV show can be stretching and also fulfilling when it gives you a template to host creativity! When I wrote a song about fear for my recent show, it lunged me into a time of creative overload to make this music video come to life. I thought I would share with you the lyrics, video link, and the story of how it was filmed. If you're anything like me, you may enjoy the "behind the scenes" look and hopefully be inspired to "do much" with whatever the Lord has given you. Don't let fear stop you from stepping out of the box and being creative! Check out this link to watch the video, and read the words and the story below.

Fear
Awakened by shadows of a thousand yesterdays
Vision so clear until fear stole it away
Oh this is not give and take
This time I am wide awake
To look the fear in the eye
And declare it must die
Cause Love comes running
Like a hero just in time
Shadows go running
When He flips the switch and the light comes on
No more running
Cause I have found that I can fly
And perfect love casts out fear
Casts out fear every time
Empty bottles and empty packs of lies
Only leave shadows when I'm dying to shine...
Like a thief in the dark
The shadows flee at the light
And You slit the chains
That have bound my life
And I reach up
And I hear freedom bells
And You, You set me free
From every hell
Cause Love comes running...
I decided to film this song at Teague Park here in Longview. So I asked my friend if she could dress rather gothic for the storyline, to which she responded,
"How far do you want me to go? That's actually how I used to dress."
I had no idea, so I just told her to make it good. Then when I picked her up to go shoot the video, I decided I was glad that she knew the Lord and was a believer because she looked pretty scary!
The funny part was that, when we were filming at the park and we had her all tied up to a swing and such, a friend of hers "happened" to walk by... the very same friend who had led her to the Lord several years earlier! The film has a demon character who I was trying to cast but couldn't find anyone who was available. I also have friends who take that sort of thing personally if you ask them to play a "bad part". So, I try to be sensitive!! I ended up playing that part myself while Ben (who played Jesus) ran the camera while I "tempted" with a bottle of supposed beer. And yes, I did have to buy a bottle of beer at a gas station. I asked the lady behind the counter if I could just pour it out in the sink and she said,
"You gonna waste that good beer?"
I explained I was looking for a bottle to use in a drama and she responded,
"Don't you know any drunks?" No, honestly, I didn't. Felt badly about it at the moment. What kind of a witness am I if I don't know any drunks to ask for a beer bottle from? When I she asked about my show I tried to explain. Light dawned on her face.
"Oh, it's ministry!" Not wanting to put myself in the category of whatever she might think of as ministry, I said something like "sort of" and how it's just really about life.
"Well, you can't open it on the premises," chimed another lady. Well. Now I know. I walked out holding a bottle of beer, laughing at myself that I didn't know any drunks and wondering if I had adequately explained myself or just missed an opportunity to share Christ! I did toss the bottle away after I got home... was going to keep it, but it rolled out of my car when I opened the trunk and chipped the top... and what would my landlords have thought if they had seen??!! Smile.
Then I had equipment break down, computer problems, and all sorts of things happen after the film shoot. But, here is the result! Have a fun watch as you check out this video, and be encouraged to step out into the Love of Jesus as He breaks free from all fear!!
